Introducing: Transformative Theological Education for a Changing World
The United Church of Christ is re-examining how pastoral leaders are identified, formed and authorized for the future of God’s church. As a result of passage of the Ministry Issues Pronouncement at General Synod 25, the UCC has developed a number of resources to help guide the church and change the culture of ministerial authorization.
We recognize the vision of the future of theological education and the changing needs of the UCC for forming and preparing lay and pastoral leaders by offering a model of theological education that brings together the resources of three significant entities in a collaborative and creative approach. Together, the Southeast Conference of the United Church of Christ, Lancaster Theological Seminary, and The Center for Progressive Renewal are joining efforts in creating an outstanding ON-LINE PROGRAM that has its foundation in Theology Among the People (TAP), a proven program of lay theological education with a reputation for excellence.
